Description

The Vikin Maritime Museum is a maritime museum in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavík. The museum is located by the old harbour and was established in 2005. In seven exhibitions the museum displays the Icelandic maritime history since early settlements until late 20 century. An important part of the museum is the Coast Guard and rescue vessel Óðinn (pronounced Othinn). The ship was transformed into a museum about the cod wars and the history of the ship in 2008.
