David Humphreys House

Description

The General David Humphreys House, located at 37 Elm St. , Ansonia, Connecticut, was built from 1695 to 1698 and is the birthplace of the American Revolutionary War Colonel David Humphreys. Humphreys was a friend of and aide de camp to General George Washington and was nominated by President Washington to become the first ambassador of the United States to a foreign country.
